Topographic Symbols

As stated before, green is the color used to depict vegetation.  Solid Green indicates heavy vegetation, usually in the form of forested areas.

Areas that are devoid of vegetation, with the possible exception of grasses or very low vegetation, is shown as white area.

Between these two extremes is a few symbols depicting a lesser degree of vegetation. Scrub is shown as a white background with closely spaced green dots.

Orchards look generally the same as scrub, except that the green dots are in neat little rows.
