  • Avon

2 miles northwest of Mt Vernon

   

Avon was a river port community, with several businesses and residences sprawled over the river bank. The town site is mostly residential or vacant today.


  • Blanchard

11 miles south of Bellingham

   

Blanchard was a logging community. The town had stores, saloons, meat markets, barber shop, pool hall, and other various businesses and residences. The town now consists of only residences.


  • Clear Lake

3 miles south of Sedro Wooley

   

Clear Lake was a lumber town. The town had several boarding houses, hotel, school, and other typical businesses of the era. Still a small community, Clear Lake is but a shadow of itself.


  • Cokedale  

4 miles northeast of Sedro Wooley

   

Cokedale was a coal mining camp. The town had the usual amount and type of businesses for such a camp. Store, residences, etc. The town is now ghost.


  • Hamilton

13 miles east of Sedro Wooley

   

Hamilton was a coal and iron mining town. The town had general stores, saloons, hotel, and other businesses. A few residents still live in the area.


  • Lake Cavanaugh

5 miles southeast of Big lake

   

Around Lake Cavanaugh with many stores, saloons, hotels and a railroad running through it.

  • Skagit City

3 miles southwest of Mt Vernon

   

Skagit City was a river port town. The town had a post office, trading posts, schools, union hall, and several other buildings. The town is now ghost.
